Tired of being called negative when I’m actually just acknowledging both ends of reality.

Tired of friendly conversation being more important than good actions.

Tired of leniency for cruelty and stupidity, while none is shown for strength of character.

Tired of being beaten down because I’m not sugar-coated.

Tired of having my entire personality shoved down my throat, and being told that I deserve to choke on it.

I’m just so tired, guys. And I’m just too old to pretend like I’m the only part of the equation that needs to change.

Too late for new beginnings. Too late for new “friends”. It’s just getting too late.

Can’t even be bothered to post to facebook for the inevitable onslaught of “Why don’t you do something about it then?”

It’s just a matter of time, and it’s getting so late.

I don’t know why this is even a question really. If a government wants to spur economic growth it needs to spend. And I’m not talking tax breaks for corporations or the rich.

The extra spending means more employees will be hired, which means more people will have money, which means more people will spend money. Where is the confusion?

Children Read To Shelter Cats To Soothe Them

Also good for the kids. They encourage having slow readers read to the family pets. A dog will listen to a kid read a whole book one damn sssyl-la——-ble at a time, and it will never get frustrated, or correct their pronunciation, or start playing Angry Bird because it can’t stand listening to the slowness any more. The dog will look at the kid approvingly, because, human. Human is talking. Human is interacting.

So this is a great win-win.

Tax the Churches

So here’s the thing about the American Constitution…

You do not get to pick and choose amendments. If you invoke your right to free speech, you are obligated to comply with the rest of the constitution, which is quite clear on the whole not discriminating thing:

"Amendment IX

The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.”

So sure, churches and the clergy can invoke their right to Freedom of Speech, I’m all for churches having their political say. But only so long as they get to pay the same taxes and be held to the same standards as any other comparable entity operating in this country… which means no expelling LGBT from your universities, and no barring them from your offerings.  Nor the atheists, nor the sexually profligate.

You don’t get to be zealous bigoted politicians AND keep your fun “tax exempt” status.

On a slightly related note:

Corporations are MADE of citizens.  A corporation is not an entity that needs rights.  It is comprised of citizens who are already capable of voting in their own best interests (or not, as the case may be).  This DEFINITELY means a corporation should not be able to invoke a right to religious freedom.

This seems like pretty basic shit to me.  How is this so hard to argue from a legal standpoint?
